Before & After: Truman Residence
/This lovely home was one of our first projects! We transformed a 1,250sf home with enclosed living rooms and tiled countertops into a 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms home with an open floor plan.
The exterior and front of the house mostly stayed the same. We took out the unsightly fireplace, shifted the windows, centered the front door and upgraded the front porch columns.
The kitchen stayed in the same place, but we changed out all the cabinets, tile, countertops, appliances and flooring. We also created a large kitchen island by opening up the wall between the kitchen and living room.
The existing house had typical 8’-0” flat ceilings. We used the existing roof to vault the living room ceiling and added decorative beams, a new fireplace and built-in bookshelves as the new focal point.
Finally, the Master Bedroom had windows to the outside, but still felt dark. We changed the windows to patio doors and added windows above the bed for more light.
